NEW IMAGES
Here are some recent images from the past Month.
From some amazing severe weather that Melbourne received to trying
new techniques for competitions.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
over the past month Melbourne has received some amazing severe weather. Most of these came during the early afternoon. our atmosphere was full of tropical moisture making Melbourne feel more like North Queensland. We had all the ingredients primed for some amazing thunderstorms. I managed to get some shots of a couple of storms, but I did also miss out on some other ones due to being stuck at work.
BRIGHTON MAZDA COMPETITION
Throughout the month of January, the #Brightonmazdailoveyou competition has been running. The competition was about taking the best photo featuring a Mazda. I did a shoot own the Mornington Peninsula and did another shoot with a drone.
These drone tracking shots are very difficult to achieve. To give you a brief explanation on how it was taken; I had to have a dark ND filter on my drone camera to achieve at least a 1/2second exposure. I then had to fly my drone at the exact speed and direction as the car whilst taking the photo. The result having the car in perfect focus but everything else looks like it is zooming past.
One of my Mornington Peninsula photos got into the top 10. I had to go into Brighton Mazda on Friday 28th February for the top 10 draw. There was $10,000 cash prize on the line, so it was very nerve racking! every top 10 images got scrunched up and put in a barrel to be drawn out at random. I unfortunately didn’t get my image pulled out of the barrel, but I am still very happy being in the top 10 out of hundreds of images submitted to the competition.
